    ABSTRACT We describe the metagenome composition, community functional annotation, and prokaryote diversity in calcareous stromatolites from a dry stream bed of the San Felipe Creek in the Anza Borrego Desert. Analyses show a community capable of nitrogen fixation, assimilatory nitrate reduction, biofilm formation, quorum sensing, and potential thick-walled akinete formation for desiccation resistance.

    ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequence ofExiguobacteriumsp. strain MMG028, isolated from Rose Creek, San Diego, CA, USA, assembled and analyzed by undergraduate students participating in a marine microbial genomics course. A genomic comparison suggests that MMG028 is a novel species, providing a resource for future microbiology and biotechnology investigations.

    ABSTRACT Enterobacter hormaecheiDVZ29 was isolated from a sediment trap incubated in an129I plume at the Hanford Site (Washington State, USA). A whole genome sequencing of the strain resulted in 32 contigs and revealed that the genome is 4.90 Mb, with a G + C content of 55.61%.

    ABSTRACT Here we present the genomes of four marine agarolytic bacteria belonging to the Bacteroidota and Proteobacteria. Two genomes are closed and two are in draft form, but all are at least 99% complete and offer new opportunities to study agar-degradation in marine bacteria.

    ABSTRACT We report the full genome sequence ofHalomonassp. strain M1, isolated from a continental high pH serpentinizing spring in northern California, USA. The 3.7 Mb genome has a G + C content of 54.13%, encodes 3,354 protein-coding genes, and provides insights into the metabolic potential for sulfur oxidation.

    ABSTRACT Here, we present the draft genome sequence of strain LSUCC0117, a representative of the abundant aquatic BAL58 Betaproteobacteria group which we isolated from a coastal site in the northern Gulf of Mexico. The genome is estimated at over 99% complete, with a genome size of 2,687,225 bp.
